My parents surprised me with a new lens this week! 55-300mm, I'm in love with it. My second time shooting womens's soccer was just as exciting as the first. The women came away with a win of 4-2 over Central Connecticut State. Go BOBCATS!!

My first ever assignment for the Quinnipiac Chronicle! I shot the womens' soccer game against Rhode Island. It was also my first time shooting sports with my Nikon.

before i go...

a trip with family to 'simplify' for a few weeks, but before i go, i again want to share
'habit'. i was privileged to be selected from the flickr pool and featured in the daily blog. sadly, this year has flown by and july has ended as well, taking along with it the open Habit blog, which for now returns to highlighting only a couple of photographers a month.

habit

Ive been a member of flickr.com for almost a year and recently my mom has turned me on to a group called
"habit". i love it. I'm addicted. each day post a picture and write a description of 30 words or less. i use it as practice for my journalism combining as few words as possible to express my thoughts. it in no way needs to reflect the picture, just express how it makes you feel. check it out.

craving a new challenge as summer vacation becomes more work than fun i headed to the beach with a borrowed board. something i've never tried before. something nearly impossible in new england on long island sound. something challenging both physically and mentally. exactly what i needed.

Arrows through the black,
Destinations unknown,
Purpose only to shine,
I watch them burn,
From the bed of a pick-up,

The only heat is our bodies,
And the blanket,
The world is dark,
Mysterious,
Cold,
November,

Leaving trails of ash,
They are gone,
Flying,
Falling,
Dying,

Like you and I,
Destination unknown,
Purpose to shine,
I feel us fall,
Reminiscent of the stars,
Loveless,
Lifeless,
Lonely,

Separate in humanity,
Together now,
For only a while,
Before you drop left,
And I right,

Our hands are clasped,
You kiss my head,
I kiss you back,
